At the beginning, we are introduced to Macbeth as this war hero that kills traitors and fights for his King and country. It is when he happens upon the Weird Sisters and learns of their predictions that he flips his loyalty. Instead of waiting to see how it will all play out, he takes things into his own hands and concocts a plan to kill his king and take over the thrown with the help of his wife. When It comes time to kill Duncan, he loses all of the bravado he posses and is scared while Lady Macbeth eggs him on. Then, of course, he switches rolls again and brecaomes a blood-thirsty tyrant and the play ensues.
