How does Hunger of Memory apply to students?

A fun question. Hunger of Memory applies to all students because all of us must learn to put aside those things that we are most comfortable with, the things that seem natural, the things that seem easy, and learn to live and present ourselves as members of a public society who share a set of practices and behaviors. The further one's home values or practices differs from these social norms, the more intense the struggle, but everyone must face it, even if it is using one's "indoor voice" or not hitting someone as if he were your brother. Beyond that, the strict time structures most classes follow, and these days, even using standard spelling instead of chat room abbreviations would apply.
