Part I:    (2/5) / (4)

Step 1:  Change 4 to an improper fraction.

             (2/5) / (4/1)

Step 2:  "Flip" the denominator's fraction; rewrite as a multiplication.

            (2/5) *  (1/4)

Step 3:  Multiply the fractions.

            (2 * 1) / (5*4)

The answer is 2/20 which reduces to 1/10.

Part II:  Multiply 2/5 by 4.

Step 1:  Rewrite the problem as 2/5 * 4/1

Step 2:   (2/5) * (4/1)

              (2 * 4) / (5 * 1)   =  8/5` `

Step 3:  You can leave 8/5 as an improper fraction or change it to the mixed number  1 3/5.

The answer is 8/5 which is 1 3/5.
