How do you factor 125 + y^6?

### 1 Answer | Add Yours

`y^6+125`

rule: `a^3+b^3=(a+b)(a^2-ab+b^2)`

`a = y^2` because `(y^2)^3 = y^6`

`5^3 = 125`

**thus:**

`(y^2+5)(y^4-5y^2+25)`
