How do poems challenge readers attitudes?

poems can sometimes change readers attitudes by how the poem is written not by if it has nice type font but by what the poet expresses from his feeelings this relates to the reader and and the reader likes the poetry because it relates to something that u feel

They often provide foreign ground in disguise--themes or experiences that are masked with symbolism and other literary devices--that lead the reader to explore a different point of view without the blatant opinions and words of everyday life. Literary devices like allusions, similes, metaphors, and imagery can trigger connections between past experiences and this new idea that often stick, challenging their attitudes or opinions.
