First, change the decimal to a fraction:  .2= 2/10

Then, write the mixed number:               2 2/10

Finally, change the mixed number to a fraction by multiplying the whole number (2) x 10 (the denominator of the fraction) and adding the numerator (2) to this number.  Place this over the 10 and you have your fraction:                                            22/10

[Always remember that decimals are just another way to write fractions.  One decimal place is 10ths, two places makes 100ths, three places 1000ths, and so on.  So, just place the number behind the decimal point over the correct multiple of 10 when you wish to convert a decimal to a fraction.]

2.2

just more the decimal place 1 point to the right (into the tenths place) turning 2.2 into 22/10 you can decide to simplify this by diving by 2 making it 11/5

Change the 0.2 into a fraction 2/10 Add the 2 to 2/10 to get 2 2/10, a mixed number. To get a improper fraction, just multiply whole number by denominator value plus the numerator value to get the improper fraction, which is 2*10+2/10= 22/10 The fraction for 0.625 would be would be 5/8, a proper fraction.

Whenever something has a decimal in the tenths place you know its over 10. So 2.2 has 2 ij the twnths place after the decimal and we can switch that out with 2 and 2/10 then sinplify to

2 1/5. As a simplified fraction

Whenever something has a decimal in the tenths place you know its over 10. So 2.2 has 2 in the tenths place after the decimal and we can switch that out with 2 and 2/10 then simplify to:

2 1/5. As a simplified fraction.

If unsimplified you would get 11/5 by multiplying the denominator by 2 and adding it to the top 1 giving you 11.

Whenever you see a number in the 10ths place that means it is something out of 10. So since it is .2 the number is .2/.10 which is 2/10 of the number. Since there is a whole number which is 2 just add that in and your answer will be `2 2/10`

We need to change 2.2 into a fraction ?

We know that the first decimal place is the tenths place. This means that the number 0.1 = `(1)/(10)` .

Extending that logic, 2.2 should become `(22)/(10)` which can then be simplified to `(11)/(5)` .

Alternatively, you could just write .2 as `(2)/(10)` which becomes `(1)/(5)` and write your final answer as the mixed number `2 (1)/(5)` .

 .2 = .20 = 20 / 100

simplify it = 2 / 10 = 1 / 5

mix number = 2 1/5

changing it to a improper fraction :

2 X 5 = 10

10 + 1= 11

=11/5

* Remember to keep the denominator when changing it into improper fraction

2.2 is 2 and 2/10  so as a mixed number it is 22/10  then divide both sides by 2; then the answer is 11/5

Next time, I encourage you start new questions in their own thread.

.625 goes up to the thousandths place so it becomes

`(625)/(1000)`

You can simplify this by dividing by 25 to `(5)/(8)` .

This is one of those decimal to fraction conversions I suggest you memorize for easy use.
