How can I write an introductory paragraph for meningits if my dad died from it?

A good introductory paragraph should get the attention of a reader and help to draw them into your essay. Since this is a serious topic, you may want to quote a statistic or fact about meningitis because it is such a serious illness. You may start it off with a quotation that sums up the direction your essay is taking. You may ask a question of the reader about meningitis to pique their curiousity. You can have a definition in your introduction about the subject. You may even have a brief story in the opening paragraph to get your reader's attention. Whatever you write, it should set the tone that the rest of your essay will follow or illuminate what the thesis of this essay will be.
