How can I develop an informative speech or essay about being a model? I had one main point in mind stating the benefits of being a model, but my professor told me that would lead more into a persuasive approach. Help.!!

An informative essay is meant to educate the reader on a specific subject. It should never include opinion (if writing on the benefits of being a model, one is offering their opinion on the benefits--making it persuasive).
Therefore, an informative approach to a speech or essay on modeling should include names of top agents or agencies, the names of top models from the past and present, and statistics for models (typical measurements, height, build). The informative essay or speech should also include information on types of modeling (print, couture, runway, commercial, athletic).
You can take a chronological approach (informing about the evolution of modeling) or a spatial approach (information about the model, to the agent, to the client).
Regardless of what approach you take, the essay or speech must remain informative (researched information only). When you begin to offer your point of view or opinion on modeling, the essay or speech becomes persuasive.
When writing an informative essay, you need to determine what information you want to give, are you interested in the history of modeling? Maybe you would like to inform your audience on how to become a model. Are you interested in the different types of models and how to determine what type you are, i.e. a hands, leg, or hair model.
Find the area you are interested in and then research to gather the information you need. You may want to talk with an agent or school offering modeling. There is much more to your subject than benefits.
