The horizontal distance between a point and a base of a tower is 10 m and the point makes an angle of elevation of 60° with the top of the tower. Find the height of the tower.

The horizontal distance between a point and the base of a tower is equal to 10 m. And the point makes an angle of elevation of 60 degrees with the top of the tower. Let the height of the tower be H.

A right angle triangle is formed with `tan 60 = H/10`

=> `sqrt 3 = H/10`

=> H = `10*sqrt 3`

=> H `~~` 17.32 m

The height of the tower is approximately 17.32 m
