Ans. a 

since body was on rest

displacement due to un balanced force F say s

`s=ut+(1/2)at^2`   ,but it was on rest u=0

`s=(1/2)at^2`

thus work done is

`W=F.S= m.a. (1/2)at^2`

`=(1/2)ma^2t^2`  Joules
