A florist sold 2 types of flowers,roses and tulips.She kept a record of her sales.Unfortunately,she accidentally erased some information.Below shows what was left.Given that the cost of rose was 60% that of tulip,find the number of roses and tulips sold on Thursday.
Please solve it by forming simultaneous equation and the substitution/elimination method.Thanks

First, look at the values given for Wednesday, these are used to determine the cost of the flowers. If the cost of tulips is X, the cost of a rose is X*0.6 or 90*X*0.6 + 60*X = 570 => X = 5
The cost of tulips is $5 and that of roses is $3.
On Thursday, the total number of flowers sold is 130 and the sales is $490.
If the number of roses sold is R, the number of tulips sold is 130 - R
Using the cost of flowers determined earlier, R*3 + (130 - R)*5 = 490
=> -2R = -160
=> R = 80
On Thursday, 80 roses and 50 tulips are sold.
