Find the domain of the given function. Write your answers in both set builder and interval notation, also with absolute value. :

f(x)= `sqrt(6x -1)`

### 1 Answer | Add Yours

`f(x)=sqrt(6x-1)`

For radical functions of even index defined over real numbers, the domain is the set of possible values. These values must be non-negative.

Hence `6x-1gt=0`

`6xgt=1`

`xgt=1/6`

So, the domain of `sqrt(6x-1)` is:

`{x|x in RR, x gt=1/6}` or `[1/6,oo)`
