We have

6ax-y+2ay-3x

so we  rearrange the terms as

6ax+2ay-y-3x

factor out 2a  from first two terms and -1 from last two terms ,we have

2a(3x+y)-1(y+3x)

Brackets are same

(3x+y)(2a-1)

`6ax-y+2ay-3x`

to make it easier switch the problem around until it is

`6ax-3x-y+2ay`  now factor them

`(6ax-3x) (2ay-y)` now find what the number together in the parenthesis have in common

`3x(2a-1) y(2a-1)`

`(3x+y)(2a-1)`

and the answer is

`(3x+y) (2a-1)`

`6ax-y+2ay-3x`

to make it easier switch around the problem a little

`(6ax-3x)(2ay-y)`

`3x(2a-1) y(2a-1)`

`(3x+y)(2a-1)`
