Explain the "individual influence" of one person who had a significant impact on the years from 1945 to 1974 in the United States.

One person who had a huge "individual influence" on this time period was Martin Luther King, Jr.  Of course, King was not the only person involved in the Civil Rights Movement, but he was a major driving force behind that movement.  Because of his leadership skills and his inspiring oratory, he was able to help the movement succeed to a much greater degree than it probably would have without him.  In this way, he helped to bring a greater degree of racial justice to the United States during the era that you mention.
