To answer this question, we have to start looking at it from the inside and work our way out.

|14| = 14 so the expression then becomes 4- |14-11|

14-11 = 3 so the expression becomes 4-|3|

|3| = 3 and the expression becomes 4-3

4-3 = 1

To evaluate 4 - | |14|-11|

Solution:

We know that |x| is a positive value such that if x is negative then |x| = -x. Or if x is positive |x| =x. So,

|14|= 14.

| |14|-11| = |14-11| = 3.

Therefore,

4-||14-11| = 4-3 = 1
