(i) Ethanol C2H5OH is made industrially by the reaction of water with ethene, C2H4 according to the reaction:

C2H4 (g) + H2O --> C2H5OH (l)

Given the following thermo-chemical data;

C2H4 (g) + 302 (g) --> 2CO2 (g) + 2H2O(l)   H = -1411.1kJ

C2H5OH (l) + 3O2 (g) --> 2CO2 (g) + 3H2O (l) H = -1367.1kJ

Apply Hess's law to calculate the enthalpy of formation of ethanol (Must detail all calculations and write the chemical equations.)

(ii) Ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) is commonly used in fertiliser mixtures as a source of nitrogen to promote plant growth. What effect, if any, will this compound have on the acidity of the mositure in the ground? Explain your answer with details of the likely reactions(s).

(iii) when 0.1M of CaCl2 is added to the following equilibrium system: CaC2O (s) <---> Ca^2+ (aq) + C2O4^2- (aq)  Is the solubility of calcium oxalate increased or decreased, why?
