250 bananas were equally among a certain number of students. If there were 25 more students, each would have received half the number. Find the number of total students.

Let the number of students be N. When 250 bananas are equally distributed among N students each of them gets twice as many bananas than if the bananas had been distributed among N + 25 students. This gives:
`250/N = 2*(250/(N + 25))`
=> N + 25 = 2N
=> N = 25
There are a total of 25 students.
