What do you makes Dune great? (obviously a question for fans:))
the characters, the detailed portait of human society in future, the story and the plot, or the broadness and openmindness of its topics?
or perhaps, as in my view both, the fact that it is a mix of great story and characters with just about everything - poetry, religion, sociology, ecology, philosophy -somehow functioning succesfully a legitimate part of the novel?
