The family as portrayed in Macleod's play is shown as the center of love and unity. The question is whether Jhana will be allowed to rise above her mental disability and achieve goals she has set for herself.

JHANA:
I live at…I live at three, nine, three, nine, three, nine.
I live at three TWO nine Chisholm Avenue.

The Mary-Arrchie Theatre describes the dynamic of the play's portrayal of family as being about "self-destruction and creation" as other characters discover their own disabilities and destroy or create.
