Did Lenin keep the aims of the 1917 Russian revolution?

That depends on which revolution in 1917. The original February revolt was certainly aiming at a democratic government, something Lenin had no desire to see. He exploited differences between the Right Social Revolutionaries, the Left Social Revolutionaries, the Cadets, and the other socialist, Marxist, democratic and anarchist parties for his own purposes. By his rhetoric, political manipulation, reasoned arguments and sheer force of will he derailed that revolution and replaced it with his own in October. He certainly did not keep the aims of the original revolution, but the second revolution's aims were those of Lenin himself.
