In the long run, Alexander Hamilton's program absolutely helped the United States.

Hamilton's program was meant to help the United States' economy become more diversified and more modern.  This meant moving the US towards being more of an industrial country instead of a country based solely on small farmers like Jefferson wanted.  An industrial country with a diversified economy is much more likely to be prosperous and powerful than a country whose economy is based on small farms.

Thus, Hamilton's plan helped to make the US rich and powerful by promoting industry.  This is surely a benefit to the country.
