diamagnetic materials

When diamagnetic materials are placed under external magnetic field  an internal magnetic field is devlopped inside of it.whose direction is opposite to that of external magnetic field. why it happens ?

Diamagnetic materials has a weak and negative susceptibility to magnetic fields these are slightly repelled by a magnetic field. In diamagnetic materials all the electron are paired so there is no permanent net magnetic moment. the material does not retain the magnetic properties when the external field is removed.

Diamagnetic means the descriptive term which indicates that a substance contains no unpaired electrons and thus is not attracted to a magnetic field.

NH3 is a diamagnetic because all of the electrons in NH3 are paired.
