Construct word equations and balanced chemical equations (including states) for the following reactions.

Once you have done this, classify each reaction (i.e. is it neutralisation, acid+metal etc?)

1. Nickel + sulfuric acid.
2. Hydrochloric acid + magnesium carbonate.
3. Potassium hydroxide + nitric acid.
4. Zinc carbonate + hydrochloric acid.
5. Calcium + hydrochloric acid.
6. calcium hydroxide and carbonic acid.
7. Zinc carbonate + nitric acid.

1. Nickel + Sulfuric acid -> Nickel (II) sulfate + Hydrogen Gas

`Ni (S) + H2SO4 (aq) -> NiSO4 (aq) + H2 (g) `    acid + metal; single replacement reaction

2. Hydrochloric acid + magnesium carbonate -> Magnesium chloride + Carbon dioxide gas + water

`2 HCl (aq) + MgCO3 (s) -> MgCl2 (aq) + CO2(g) + H2O (l)`  acid + metal; double replacement reaction

3. Potassium hydroxide + nitric acid -> potassium nitrate

`KOH + HNO3 -> KNO3 + H2O` neutralization reaction


4. Zinc carbonate + hydrochloric acid -> Zinc Chloride + water + Carbon dioxide gas

`ZnCO3 + 2HCl (aq) -> ZnCl2 (aq) + H2O (l) + CO2 (g)` double replacement reaction

5. Calcium + hydrochloric acid -> Calcium chloride + Hydrogen gas

`Ca + 2HCl (aq) + CaCl2 (aq) + H2 (g)` acid + metal; single replacement reaction

6. calcium hydroxide and carbonic acid -> Calcium carbonate + water

`Ca(OH)2 + H2CO3 (aq) -> CaCO3 (s) + 2 H2O (l) `  Neutralization reaction


7. Zinc carbonate + nitric acid -> Zinc Nitrate + water + carbon dioxide gas

`ZnCO3 + HNO3 (aq) -> ZnNO3 (aq) + H2O (l) + CO2(g)` double replacement reaction
