In the vulnerable population of migrant workers, one responsibility of a Community health Nurse would be to monitor the existing cases of, incidence of and new cases of diabetes. In addition, the Nurse would administer treatment regimes where authorized to do so. the CDC (Center for Disease Control) says that type 2 diabetes is at epidemic proportions among "American Indian and Alaska Natives, African Americans, Hispanic or Latino Americans." Hispanic and Latino American comprise a large percentage of migrant work forces.
