When you are thinking about Bryon and his hangup with his ego and the effects on the story later, think about Bryon's relationship with Cathy. Where does Cathy want the relationship to go and where does Bryon want the relationship to go? Why do Cathy and Bryon drift apart? Did Bryon and Mark drift apart because of Bryon's ego? Did Bryon act like or feel like he was "better than Mark"? Did Mark resent Bryon's attitude? Consider these questions when thinking about Bryon's ego affecting the outcome of the story.
