She is Joseph Balicki's wife and mother of Ruth Edek and Bronia. In the end she turned out to be the owner of the silver sword, her prized possession. Margrit was taken away by the Nazis to Germany despite Edek's attempts to shoot after the soldiers and save her. She is a minor character as she does not do much in the story.

Margrit was taken away by the Nazis to Germany for hard labour,despite Edek's attempts to shoot after the soldiers and save her, he failed.

she is a wife to joseph and a mother to ruth, edek and bronia. she was swiss. she was taken away by the nazis to work on land in Germany.Her parents lived in sitzerland where the family decided that if they ever were split to meet there.
