Can someone briefly explain what the statement below means and put it in an easier worded format so I can myself try and understand it?'Conforming to a stereotype is the easiest option."

This is a good question. The basic point of the quote is "go with the flow." It is basically saying that it is easiest to conform rather than go against what people think and expect. Consider it from a sociological point of view. Each society has certain expectations of how things should be and go. We can say that each society has a commonsense view of the world. For this reason, if you go against what people expect of you, it will be an uphill battle. It is much easier to conform.

With that said, I am not saying that these stereotypes are correct. In fact, often times they are wrong and we need to fight them. However, it is important to know that it will be difficult to fight. People's perceptions and opinions are not easy to change.

[Reworded: Giving in to socially or culturally accepted roles is the easiest path to follow.]
