Why don't you visit the following site, a sheriff's office in the state of Florida, as a case study? The article you find here treats by category the different types of forensic studies going on ( filming, blood and DNA identification, fingerprinting, etc.) and the type of equipment provided. I think this approach would also be more interesting for the class rather than just furnishing a long list of materials.
