calculations show that 50% of wood underwater...experimental it shows that 45% underwater..why is there a difference?

 (density and buoyance) is it the water is not pure or something else? Thank you CALCULATION-  mass 24g...length 6cm..width 4cm.. height 2cm  D=M/V=O.5 50%    EXPERIMENTAL-0.9 underwater =0.9/0.2height=45%

I found the answer myself and it was water displacement
