The other, Betty's Breakables, is offering 25% off any purchase. Each store offers an antique music box at a (non-discounted) price of $80, and a faux ming vase for $40.

The promotional price of an antique music box at Annie's Attic is _______
and the promotional price of an antique music box at betty's breakables is ___________
Therefore, if you are in the market for an antique music box, you should buy it at__________
a) annie's attic
b) betty's breakables

The promotional price of a faux ming vase at Annie's attic is _______________
and the promotional price of a faux at ming vase at betty's breakables is_____________
therefore, if you are in the market for a faux ming vase, you should buy it at ________

Music Box

Annie's Attic    $80 - $15 = $65

Betty's            $80(1.00 - 0.25) = $60

Buy it at Betty's

Ming Vase

Annie's            $40 - $15 = $25

Betty's            $40(1.00 - 0.25) = $30

Buy it at Annie's

Same Discounted Price

        P - 15 = P(1.00 - 0.25)

        P - 15 =  0.75P

      -P         =      -P

           -15  =  -0.25P

       /-0.25  = /-0.25

            60  = P

So, if the original price of the candlestick is $60, you could purchase the item for the same discounted price at either store.

Check

Annie's   $60 - $15 - $45

Betty's    $60(1.00 - 0.25) = $45
