To calculate the time taken use the formula `s = u*t + (1/2)*a*t^2 ` where s is the distance traveled, u is the initial speed, t is the time taken and a is the acceleration. Here, the initial velocity of the bungee jumper is 0, the total distance traveled is 127 m and the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^2
127 = 0 + (1/2)*9.8*t^2
=> `t^2 = (127*2)/9.8`
=> t = `sqrt (254/9.8)`
The bungee jumper takes 5.09 s to reach 1 m from the ground.
