I'm afraid the answer to that is going to vary depending on what version of the book you have. For example, I have the Signet Classic version (the paperback). In it Chapter IV starts on page 54. Chapter III had started on page 45. So, in my version, stopping on page 50 would stop in the middle of a chapter.
If you read the first three chapters, you're probably fine, no matter what version of the book you're using, but to be safe, you might want to read Chapter IV.
