Oxidation states:

Cu = +2                    Cu -> 0

S = +6

O = -2

Reduction half reaction

`Cu^(2+) + SO_4 ^(-2) + 2e -> Cu^(0) `

Ni            ->          NiSO4

Oxidation states

Ni = 0                    Ni = +2

S = +6

O = -2

Oxidation half reaction

`Ni^(0) -> Ni^(2+) + SO_4 ^(-2) + 2 e `

Combine the two reactions:

`Cu^(2+) + SO_4 ^(-2) + 2e -> Cu^(0) `

`Ni^(0) -> Ni^(2+) + SO_4 ^(-2) + 2e` _______________________________________
