Elementary School Teacher
Selecting a book is a multi-faceted consideration. One criteria is the readability of the text (reading level). Another criteria is the content of the book. While some books are easily read by younger children, the content is not suitable. This is the case for the book Sweet Whisper, Brother Rush. The book deals with abuse, disabilities and dealing with death, content which is not necessarily appropriate for younger students. It is most appropriate for grades 7 and up.
