What do I need to define for a research paper about public transportation as a possible solution to global warming?
I am writing a research paper about public transportation as a possible solution against global warming. I have to write the definition list. I know that definitions are according to what i'm going to write in my paper, but is it possible to give me any ideas for definitions related to this subject? (I have already thought global warming, climate change, greenhouse effect, carbon cycle).

In a scientific paper, definitions are very important. You will want to ensure that all readers have the same understanding of scientific concepts as you do, or that readers understand what you are using. Phrases such as “for the purpose of this paper” and “will be defined as” are useful in differentiating your practical definitions from others in the literature.
One of the most important things to define is “public transportation.” You will want to find an appropriate definition that encompasses what you are talking about or perhaps limits the definition to your purview. Not all public transportation is clean and green. Some forms are big polluters. You will need to distinguish which kinds you are talking about, or if you prefer any kind of public transport to individual cars.
Another important term to define, believe it or not, is “solution.” This is a practice used to address a problem. You are going to need to define exactly what you are addressing and what you mean in this context.
Finally, you will want to address all important scientific terms. Define them for your use, and how they will be used in the context of your paper.
