Although Piggy comes up with useful ideas in Lord of the Flies, the other boys frequently bully him. Why do you think this is?

Piggy's physical appearance is the first reason why the other boys make fun of him. He's overweight, wears glasses, and has asthma, which makes him physically weak. Piggy doesn't have the traits of a leader either. He depends on Ralph to present his ideas and thoughts. His intelligence and scientific reasoning are not the traits that Jack and his group respect. Piggy looks and acts more like an adult than the other boys, and this is certainly not something the others would admire.
