After Snowball's expulsion, what happens to democracy and equality on the farm?
1 Answer | Add Yours
After Snowball is exiled, democracy and equality begin to decline. First of all, Napoleon begins to shift all the blame for what has happened to Snowball, and takes the praise for the windmill idea himself, even though it was Snowball who came up with the idea. Napoleon also rewrites the commandments so there is only one commandment: "Four legs good, two legs bad." This actually promotes inequality because it excludes those who have two legs. Napoleon also ends the Sunday meetings so all that happens at the meetings is assigning that week's duties. This negatively affects democracy on the farm. Previously, Snowball and Napoleon debated at the meetings; now, it is only Napoleon who has a say in what happens on the farm.
