1kg=1000g.  When converting Kg to g you need to move the decimal place 3 spaces to the right.  So 83.7kg = 83700g

Alternate - since 1 kg = 1000 grams, let's just multiply 83.7 by 1000.  Some students are ok with moving the decimal point, others not so much.  If a student moves the decimal point without the requisite number sense, problems arise down the road.

1 kilograms = 1000 grams

83.7 kilograms = 83.7*1000= 83700 grams. Just move the decimal point three steps ahead and add the zeros in the blank space.

83.7 kg

1 kg = 1000 g

1 : 1000

83.7 x 1000

= 83,700

So therefore, 83.7kg = 83,700g
