of 50 students surveyed 30 say they like algebra, 21 say they like trigonometry and 8 say they like both. how many students do not like either algebra or trigonometry?

### 1 Answer | Add Yours

Let

n(A)= like algebra =30

n(T)= like trigonometry=21

n(A and B)=8

A'= Not lke algebra

B'=Not like trigonoetry

`n(AuuB)=n(A)+n(B)-n(AnnB)`

`=30+21-8=43`

There are 50 students , in which 43 likes either algebra or trigonometry or both.

Thus

50-43=7

**So 7 students do not like either algebra or trigonometry or both.**
