1) To work out 3 x 3 we need to remember what multiply means. When we multiply 3 by 3 we have three lots of 3. So

3 x 3 = 3 + 3 + 3 = 9

2) Similarly when we multiply 3 by 5 we have five lots of 3. So

3 x 5 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 15

We can also think of this as three lots of 5, so that

3 x 5 = 5 + 5 + 5 = 15

1) 3 x 3 = 3 + 3 + 3 = 9

2) 3 x 5 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 5 + 5 + 5 = 15

 3 x 3 equal? What does 3 x 5

3xx3 = 3+3+3

`3+3=6+3=9 `  so `3xx3=9`

`3xx5=3+3+3+3+3`

`3+3=6+3=9+3=12+3=15 `  so `3xx5=15`

What does 3 x 3 equal? What does 3 x 5 equal?

Remember that multiplication is just repetitive addition so

3 x 3 = 3 + 3 + 3 = 6 + 3 = 9

You can do the same process for 3 x 5 and end up with 15

1 ) 3 X 3 is basically 3 + 3 + 3 = 9 . Basically just add 3 three times

2 ) 3 X 5 can be either 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 15 or it can be 5 + 5 + 5 . So basically add 3 five times , your can add 5 three times

What does 3 x 3 equal? What does 3 x 5 equal?

3*3 is basically 3 added to it self 3 times

so 3+3+3

6+3

9=3*3

3*5 is 3 added together 5 times

3+3+3+3+3

6+3+3+3

9+3+3

12+3

15=3*5
