2(x-y)^2-9(x-y)z-5z^2

Factor it

### 1 Answer | Add Yours

`2(X-Y)^2 - 9(X-Y)Z - 5Z^2 = 0`

Multiply by -1 both sides.

`==> 5z^2 +9(x-y)z -2(x-y)^2 = 0`

Let (x-y)= A

==> `5z^2 +9Az- 2A^2 = 0`

`==> (5z +A)(z-2A) = 0`

`==> (5z+(x-y))(z-2(x-y)) = 0`

`==> (5z+x-y) (z-2x+2y) = 0`

`==> 2(x-y)^2 -9(x-y)z -5z^2 = (5z+x-y)(z-2x+2y)`
