I would like some help with a 2-4 minute speech.

- Improvement in classroom technology will improve student achievement.
- Basic computer programming should be a part of high school core curriculum.
- Reading is good for you.
If the topic is your choice, it is best to talk about a subject with which you are very familiar. If there needs to be a tie-in with literature, pick a story that you can easily relate to, and discuss its relevance in today's culture. I hope this helps.

High School Teacher
Writing a speech of two to four minutes, you will need to select a topic that can be explored or an idea that can be expressed in a short period of time.
For the average reader, a single page of prose will take about five minutes to read (single-spaced). You can generally presume that every one hundred words will take a minute to read.
With this in mind, one strategy to prepare for a speech of this length is to write a four paragraph essay with an introduction, conclusion and two body paragraphs.
Persuasive essays work nicely in this format as one body paragraph can be used to explore "pros" and another to explore "cons".
