The given equation is:

0.5a-1=4

Adding 1 on both sides, we get

0.5a = 4+1

 = 5

Multiplying both sides by 2,

a = 5*2

= 10.

Therefore, solution to the equation 0.5a-1=4 is a = 10.

i found the answer!

0.5a-1=4

5a/10=4+1

5a/10=5 (we will cross multiply) (as u know that 5 is really 5/1)

5a=50

5a/5=50/5

a=10
