What kind of health care system does the United States have?

My question related to US health care system.

    The American health care system might best be described as mixed. That is to say, there are elements that are completely privately funded. Some forms of elective surgery provide good examples here. Other parts are funded by the government with the express purpose of improving public health. The Center for Disease Control

    is a good example here. Other elements are a kind of patchwork, in which individuals receive varying degrees of governmental funding, which they then apply to health care or insurance.
