False.  Andrew Johnson and members of the Southern Confederacy opposed the abolitionist's views on ending slavery.  They believed that they had the right to own slaves and were defending their right to do so.  The south was enraged and felt that the North was acting unfairly by declaring war upon them.  They were fighting for their rights, but they were also fighting out of anger for having their perceived rights threatened.  It's true that they disliked Lincoln, but that is not the reason the Civil War began in the South.  The Union moved into the South and they had to begin fighting to defend their territory and their beliefs.
