What is Gray's Anatomy?

Gray's Anatomy is the shortened name for Anatomy of the Human Body, Descriptive and Surgical, by the English doctor Henry Gray (1825 or 1827–1861). Gray was a lecturer in anatomy (parts of the body) at the St. George Hospital in London and professor at the Royal College of Surgeons. At the age of thirty-three, Gray compiled this important medical text, which was first published in 1858. Numerous revised editions of Gray's Anatomy were used by medical students for more than 150 years and continue to be used today.
