What was William Shakespeare's formal education?

Historians believe that William Shakespeare (1564–1616) was educated at the King's New School, a grammar school in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. At this secondary school he would have studied Latin, grammar, literature, rhetoric, logic, and ethics. The education in Roman comedy, ancient history, and classical mythology is thought to be evident throughout his extensive literary works. This is believed to be his only formal education as there is no evidence to suggest he ever received university training.
