A woman would probably present the story in a very different way, perhaps delving into the feelings of the woman much more, and what she must be thinking. A woman may have also thought in some different ways about what the responsibilities of both of the man and woman to the situation would be.

Of course, if the book is written by a woman, it would be written in the woman's point of view. There would be a mix of emotions, thoughts and feelings throughout the book and the interpretations regarding about the events at hand would be varied and mixed. There would be a different side to the story, more about the women's view than the man's view, so it would not be that accurate.
