Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Chapter 15 Summary

Harry wakes up early the next day with a great plan. Harry tells Sirius the idea in a new letter. Harry tells Sirius not to worry about him because his scar does not hurt anymore, and therefore there is no need to come back and protect him. Harry does not want Sirius in danger in any way (especially not for his own sake). Harry sends Hedwig with the letter immediately.

In Mad-Eye Moody’s Defense Against the Dark Arts class, the students are shocked when Moody announces that he will be using the Imperius Curse on every single student in order for them to learn how to get rid of it. The only student who is able to resist the curse is Harry himself. Even Mad-Eye Moody is impressed by this.

Meanwhile, the Hogwarts students are overburdened with schoolwork as the year drags on.  Soon it is time for the arrival of the students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons and, consequently, the start of the Triwizard Tournament. Hogwarts castle is cleaned from top to bottom in order to greet their guests with honor. When the moment arrives, the students all go outside to greet the new students from the two other wizarding schools.

Beauxbatons arrives first on the scene.  They come in a magical horse-drawn carriage of gigantic proportions. Even the Headmistress, Madame Maxime is larger than life.

It is not long before the Durmstrang students arrive as well. Their method of transportation is a huge, magical ship that appears in the Hogwarts lake. Although all of the students from Durmstrang are amazing, Harry and Ron are most taken aback that Viktor Krum (the Quidditch Player they fawned over at the World Cup) is among the students. Viktor Krum makes it obvious that he intends to be the champion of the Triwizard Tournament.
