Does the technology exist today to have a society like Harrison's?

    The technology exists to create a society of "equals" similar to what Vonnegut depicts.  I wouldn't say that the technology exists to subvert people's wills in order to allow that to happen, though.  Plastic surgery could render the ugly beautiful and the beautiful ugly, to reach some common sameness, and technology exists to fix the blind to be seeing and the deaf to be hearing, but what besides some kind of force (in today's world) would compel someone beautiful, with exceptional hearing and sight, to allow him/herself to be "lessened" to reach equality with everyone else.
